St. Raphael, ArchAngel
One of the seven angels constantly before the throne of God (Tob. 12:15). Under the appearance of a man, he guided young Tobias to Ecbatana, cast out the devils from Sara, and obtained her in marriage for Tobias. He received the money from Gabael, then guided Tobias safely home and cured the blindness of the elder Tobias (Tob. 5-11). His name means “God has healed.”
To St. Raphael, Angel of Happy Meetings
O Raphael, lead us (Joshua, Paul, Todd n’ myself)towards those we are waiting for, those who are waiting for us! Raphael, Angel of Happy Meetings, lead us by the hand towards those we are looking for! May all our movements, all their movements, be guided by your Light and transfigured by your Joy.
Angel Guide of Tobias, lay the request we now address to you at the feet of Him on whose unveiled Face you are privileged to gaze. Lonely and tired, crushed by the separations and sorrows of earth, we feel the need of calling to you and of pleading for the protection of your wings, so that we may not be as strangers in the Province of Joy, all ignorant of the concerns of our country.
Remember the weak, you who are strong—you whose home lies beyond the region of thunder, in a land that is always peaceful, always serene, and bright with the resplendent glory of God. Amen
Names of God – Give Me Jesus
We have been hearing and have been repeating from childhood the Holy Name of Jesus, but alas, many, very many, have no adequate idea of the great wonders of this Holy Name!
The Holy Name of Jesus is, first of all, an all-powerful prayer. Our Lord Himself solemnly promises that whatever we ask the Father in His Name we shall receive. God never fails to keep His word.
When, therefore, we say, “Jesus,” let us ask God for all we need with absolute confidence of being heard.
… Jesus… Jesus… Jesus…
Excerpt from Desiderata
I am so intrigue by the promises in this short excerpt and find great peace when I meditate on its meaning…
“you are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars
you have a right to be here
and whatever your labors and aspirations
in the noisy confusion of life
keep peace in your soul
-
with all its sham, drudgery
and broken dreams
it is still a beautiful world
be cheerful, strive to be happy.”

Mary Did You Know…
Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will one day walk on water?Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will save our sons and daughters?Did you know,
that your baby boy has come to make you new?
This child that you’ve delivered,
will soon deliver you.Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will give sight to a blind man?Mary, did you know
your baby boy will calm a storm with his hand?Did you know,
that your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby,
you’ve kissed the face of God.The blind will see
The deaf will hear
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.Mary, did you know
that your baby boy is Lord of all creation?Mary, did you know
that your baby boy will one day rule the nations?Did you know,
that your baby boy is heaven’s perfect lamb?
This sleeping child you’re holding, is the great I AM.
If I Were a Free Spirit…O Lord Jesus
All this milestone wisdom we have acquired
are nothing but a faint shade
of the reality of the universe
we have so much more to learn
we are just beginning to see
the grandeur of what the Creator
has given us as our limitless backyard
and when we gaze at the stars in awe
it is a form of adoration and prayer
to the One who created them all
for a deeper understanding of the universe
is a deeper understanding of its Creator
our ever expanding wisdom as star gazers
brings us closer to HimThank you, eastwind…
Jesus… Jesus… Jesus…
In the year 1274 great evils threatened the world, the people were called to pray, invoking the Holy Name of Jesus.
Their efforts were crowned with success so that the enemies of the Church were overthrown, the dangers that threatened society disappeared and peace once more reigned supreme.
This is a most important lesson for us because…, in these our own days, dreadful sufferings are crushing many countries, and still greater evils threaten all the others. There is but one remedy, and that is prayer.
Every Christian must turn to God and ask Him to have mercy on us. The easiest of all prayers, as we have seen, is the Name of Jesus… Jesus… Jesus…
Everyone without exception can invoke this holy name hundred of times a day, not only for his own intentions, but also to ask God to deliver the world from impending ruin. This is a powerful little book: Fr. Paul O’Sullivan’s “The Wonders of The Holy Name”
