In the year 1274 great evils threatened the world, the people were called to pray, invoking the Holy Name of Jesus.

Their efforts were crowned with success so that the enemies of the Church were overthrown, the dangers that threatened society disappeared and peace once more reigned supreme.

This is a most important lesson for us because…, in these our own days, dreadful sufferings are crushing many countries, and still greater evils threaten all the others. There is but one remedy, and that is prayer.

Every Christian must turn to God and ask Him to have mercy on us. The easiest of all prayers, as we have seen, is the Name of Jesus… Jesus… Jesus…

Everyone without exception can invoke this holy name hundred of times a day, not only for his own intentions, but also to ask God to deliver the world from impending ruin. This is a powerful little book: Fr. Paul O’Sullivan’s “The Wonders of The Holy Name”

“HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD” BY LOUIE GIGLIO

He (Louie) was talking about how inconceivably BIG our God is… How He spoke the universe into being… How He breathes stars out of His mouth that are huge raging balls of fire..  Etc. Etc. Then He went on to speak of how this star-breathing, universe creating God ALSO knitted our human bodies together with amazing detail and wonder. At this point I am LOVING it (fascinating from a medical standpoint, you know.)  And I was remembering how I was constantly amazed during medical school as I learned more and more about God’s handiwork. I remember so many times thinking..’How can ANYONE deny that a Creator did all of this???’
Louie went on to talk about how we can trust that the God who created all this, also has the power to hold it all together when things seem to be falling apart…how our loving Creator is also our sustainer.

And then I lost my breath. And it wasn’t because I was running my treadmill, either!!!

It was because he started talking about laminin.. I knew about laminin.. Here is how Wikipedia

describes them: ‘Laminins are a family of proteins that are an integral part of the structural scaffolding of basement membranes in almost every animal tissue’ You see…. Laminins are what hold us together… LITERALLY. They are cell adhesion molecules. They are what holds one cell of our bodies to the next cell. Without them, we would literally fall apart. And I knew all this already. But what I didn’t know is what they LOOKED LIKE..

But now I do.  And I have thought about it a thousand times since (already)….Here is what the structure of laminin looks like… AND THIS IS NOT a ‘Christian portrayal’ of it…. If you look up laminin in any scientific/medical piece of literature, this is what you will see….

Now tell me that our God is not the coolest!!!  Amazing.  The glue that holds us together…. ALL of us….. Is in the shape of the cross.  Immediately Colossians 1:15-17 comes to mind.

‘He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by him all things were created; things in heaven and on earth, visible And invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or Authorities;    All things were created by him and for him.  He is before all things, and in him All things HOLD TOGETHER.’                                         Colossians 1:15-17

Call me crazy. I just think that is very, very, very cool. Thousands of years before the world knew anything about laminin, Paul penned those words. And now we see that from a very LITERAL standpoint, we are held together… One cell to another…. By the cross.

You would never in a quadrillion years convince me that is anything other than the mark of a Creator who knew EXACTLY what laminin ‘glue’ would look like long before Adam breathed his first breath!!

Try to Google it… Sit back, close your eyes and think about it… AWESOME!!!

This is another message from Linda’s Schubert’s prayer group. I can see this happening as I interact with different prayer groups online and in programs that are developing like Society for Return to Honor. Thank you God for hearing us and answering our prayers… I know you are doing bigger and greater things then I can even imagine. Glory to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit…

…Jesus… Jesus… Jesus… pray for Japan repeating the Holy Name of Jesus… this also ask God to deliver the world from impending ruin. We can save our countries and save society. Right now dreadful sufferings are crushing many countries and still greater evil threaten others. If we want peace to come we need to call on the Name of Jesus, place all our confidence in this all-powerful Name, repeating it constantly with boundless trust. …Jesus …Jesus …Jesus …
This is another very powerful way to pray “thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” THE LORDS PRAYER

What is the kingdom  like in heaven?

We serve a caring and generous God. Think about the outpouring of blessings from His throne, and ask How will I respond today? He needs nothing from you, but He wants every part of you, not to ruthlessly control you but to show you the riches He has in store for you.

…JESUS …JESUS …JESUS …Call on the Holy Name of JESUS … repeating it over n’ over again.

PRAYER TO HEAL OUR LAND

Lord, who are we as a people, having been given blessings
in portions as no other nation before us? What has become of us, Father? We have spoiled your spacious skies with buildings and cities breathing with sin. The amber waves of grain are no longer viewed as our blessing but as our due. The awe and reverence due You when we gaze upon the purple mountains and their majesty is no longer held; rather, how much pleasure they can give us.
Father, we have spurned You. We’ve blamed our problems on those who promote darkness, but You gave us time with Your Mother. Now our eyes have been opened by Her. Our lack of holiness, our not being light has allowed darkness to prevail. Indeed, our sins which we wrongly view as small have allowed those in darkness to commit great sins without shame. We now realize it’s because of our failings as Christians. Father, Samuel told your people, “It is true you have committed all this evil, still you must not turn from the Lord, but worship Him with your whole heart. For the sake of His own great name, the Lord will not abandon his own people.” Father, we come before You with our whole hearts and ask You to grant Our Lady Her intentions. Mary, we do not deserve to even be heard, yet we know Your Son’s passion merits that we are. Mary, we call You as You have called us. Please, intercede before God to forgive us, to heal us, to heal our families, and to heal our nation. Father, grant Mary’s intentions and hear Her pleas for us. We
know you are justly irritated with us but we beg and plead for forgiveness through our repentance from our hearts. We realize our nation is headed toward disaster by so many signs You have given us. Holy, Holy, Holy God, grant Mary Her requests that we may again be your people, not a nation above God but one nation humbled and under God. Amen
