In the name of Jesus, I loose the Holy Spirit into the life of [....] to draw

PRAYER TO HEAL OUR LAND

Lord, who are we as a people, having been given blessings
in portions as no other nation before us? What has become of us, Father? We have spoiled your spacious skies with buildings and cities breathing with sin. The amber waves of grain are no longer viewed as our blessing but as our due. The awe and reverence due You when we gaze upon the purple mountains and their majesty is no longer held; rather, how much pleasure they can give us.
Father, we have spurned You. We’ve blamed our problems on those who promote darkness, but You gave us time with Your Mother. Now our eyes have been opened by Her. Our lack of holiness, our not being light has allowed darkness to prevail. Indeed, our sins which we wrongly view as small have allowed those in darkness to commit great sins without shame. We now realize it’s because of our failings as Christians. Father, Samuel told your people, “It is true you have committed all this evil, still you must not turn from the Lord, but worship Him with your whole heart. For the sake of His own great name, the Lord will not abandon his own people.” Father, we come before You with our whole hearts and ask You to grant Our Lady Her intentions. Mary, we do not deserve to even be heard, yet we know Your Son’s passion merits that we are. Mary, we call You as You have called us. Please, intercede before God to forgive us, to heal us, to heal our families, and to heal our nation. Father, grant Mary’s intentions and hear Her pleas for us. We
know you are justly irritated with us but we beg and plead for forgiveness through our repentance from our hearts. We realize our nation is headed toward disaster by so many signs You have given us. Holy, Holy, Holy God, grant Mary Her requests that we may again be your people, not a nation above God but one nation humbled and under God. Amen

As I watched this video, I thought, what Fr Mike was showing us, in keeping a journal is really a strong tool to continue even after Lent is over.  There is something about writing that makes a strong connection from the mind to the heart and thus makes an  imprint in our prayer life… to be able to go back over the days and weeks, seeing God’s hand in our lives can only increase our faith.

I woke up the other morning saying this prayer and it has now become a prayer mantra for me…

“Glory be to God in the highest and peace to His children on earth.”

Jesus, Thank you, for your grand love for us, that by way of the Cross we are redeemed. Thank you that we receive the Holy Spirit, Father, that we are never alone, that the powers of heaven are within us and for us. Father, Thank you, that we are forgiven, for your Mercy and for your Love. Grant us today your peace, that all we touch prospers, that all we meet along this path sees you and we plant seeds of your Love, that your Garden prospers, your Flock expands, that your Children come home. We are in your hands, under your control, Heaven is rooting us on, helping us reach victory, fighting on our behalf, removing burdens, restoring our health, our finances, providing jobs, growing business, protecting our children, restoring marriages, morals and the truths of our Father. Your control, that which is meant to prosper us, for our success, for your Good, returns to us, for we your children, turn to you, expectantly, waiting, as your hand washes away the burdens, the trials, the lies of this world. This is a prayer from Linda Schubert’s  book… Miracle Moments.

This one prayer is for all of us who has great concern over our finances.  Last night, as I thought back over the answered prayer in my life… that the most life changing answers came when I concentrated, really immersed myself in the reality of the continual presence of Jesus. I actually have lost track of time when I pray like this.

Remember when Jesus tells us in Matthew 7: 7-12…” to ask, to seek and to knock… it will be opened to us.” This persistence, the perseverance in prayer… seeking the will of God in our problems, our finances is so powerful.

I don’t know about you, but I know for myself that I’d rather have guidance from God, then trusting in my limited understanding. I’m learning it is good to walk hand in hand with Jesus…  He understands and has answers to my difficulties and His explanations make the way clear for what I need to do.

Dear God, I surrender my financial affairs and concerns about money to your Divine care and love. I ask that you remove my worries, anxieties, and fears about money, and replace them with faith. I know and trust that my debts will be paid and money will flow into my life. I have only to look to nature to see proof of the abundance you provide. I release all negative thoughts about money, and know that prosperity is my true state. I commit to being grateful for all that I now have in my life. I learn to manage my finances wisely, seeking help where needed. And finally, I ask you to help me understand my purpose in life and to act on that purpose with courage and strength. I know that prosperity will come, in part, by doing work I love. Please help me use my skills and knowledge to be of service in the world. Thank you, God. Amen

When Mother Theresa needed a quick miracle, she would pray the Memorare nine times in succession.

“Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to thy protection, implored thy help, or sought thy intercession, was left unaided. Prayer to say for nine consecutive days, from December 16-24. It is a devotion well worth reviving, particularly to pray for Jesus to be born in all souls…  it focuses attention intensely on our expectation of the Coming King, and helps to prepare us spiritually to receive him into our hearts and the hearts of those we pray for.
